Used Scuba Diving Equipment – I’ve only been on a couple of dives and need a little help buying my first scuba kit.
I will be doing shallow dives at first (I think 60 feet or less is considered shallow, is it not?), before moving on to deeper dives. Will be primarily in cold fresh water lakes and in tropical oceans perhaps once or twice a year.

Used Scuba Diving Equipment – Please include the name of a Dive Center I can use, not just the dive site, because I’ll be renting equipment.
I will be traveling there in February and am used to the warm water of the Caribbean- will I just be too cold to go diving?

Used Scuba Diving Equipment – What kind of regular maintenance is involved when I buy a full scuba kit (including tank)?
If I decide to buy a tank, should I go aluminum or steel? I will be diving primarily in cold, fresh water lakes in canada, and doing perhaps two tropical ocean dives per year, if that matters.

Used Scuba Diving Equipment – You have to have one item only, no more, and this item cannot be a large machine (e.g. scuba diving equipment does not count as one item, it has many parts to it). Please also tell me how you would use the item.
P.S. Depth is 10-20m so snorkels won’t work =S
Using a balloon/bucket to trap air would be hard to hold on to because of the density of air. Therefore, suggestions like these will not work =(
As for the hosepipe idea, do you know how much energy would be required to **** air through that? And also, when you removed your mum from the hosepipe, water to go into it… =S
oops soz ppl, forgot about that, yeah, you’re underwater (20m-ish)
There is a solution to this, and anyone can do it (not just Olympic swimmers or something).

Used Scuba Diving Equipment – Okay so I sold off all my old equipment before I moved a few years ago as I was not going to be needing it or using it while I was away and it was too bulky to take with me on the off chance I would be using it.
So my question is what is the best out there at the moment to buy not only a BCD but the whole lot a new computer, diving watch, mask, fins all of it right down to a new diving knife and torch.

Used Scuba Diving Equipment – I saw a diver today at a cove with a tank that was half size. He said he uses it for the shallow reef dives. It look REALLY comfortable. Are these sufficient to do 30 ft dives? I **** all the equipment… I only do easy dives here (SoCal).. Would this be a good option for me?
