Used Scuba Diving Equipment – I bought a new BC and regs set a couple years ago, just before breaking my back in several places. needless to say that prevented me from diving for a while. my doctor has cleared me so i want to start diving again, and am wondering what kind of maintenance i should do to make sure the equipment works right. it has never been used, opened, etc… should i still take it in (of could i do it myself), and if so, what should i (have them) do?

Unless you are trained in maintenance of your gear, please take it to a local dive shop and let them work on it. All dive gear should be subjected to a yearly maintenance physical, just as every person should go to a physician for a yearly exam.
